| Apparently Vonage is prepping the PSP and DS for VOIP. It doesn't have any VOIP capabilities yet the article states, but they are working on it. Check out the article, this is great!!!! |

If this comes true, and does not cost have an enormous fee, it could end up being a very good move for Sony. When good cellphones range from 200$-500$, you might as well have a PSP, if it does support VOIP...
It's not the same..but still. |

its only a proposal right now and if they do you will have to have a FW update to use it. For some reason they say the PSP an DS come stock with microphones, but neither of them do.

for some reason the [url] link won't work with the ! at the end of the address so just copy and paste it in to a browser. |

You can make any text a link just by highlighting it and then clicking the URL button. Here's what the link above looks like in the post after editing it to use the url button:

The DS comes stock with a built in microphone. The PSP has the option of a headset. There wouldn't be a need for a FW update specifically for the ability to use a microphone on either platform, but I imagine there would be one for the PSP to load the VOIP option into the menu.

| I bought a DS last summer, and as far as I know it had a mic. I traded it in after a couple months, so I didn't get to know it very well. But, I heard that Nintendo had some voice activated games for it???? I don't know the truth to that. As far as I know, my PSP doesn't have a mic. Maybe I just don't know where it's at???? |

The DS has several games that use the built in mic. Warioware DS, Rub Rabbits, xy/xx, Nintendogs, etc..
So far, sony only has SOCOM that supports voice for in-game chat. In order to take advantage of this feature on the PSP, you have to buy a headset. |
