The official Sony PSP firmware has been updated! There are a few new small features added in this release such as game demos can be downloaded from the browser and stored onto a memory stick and videos can be displayed properly when an external tuner is launched via the Location free player.
Here is a rundown of the new features via YourPSP.com
The new version adds a new icon to the PSP interface, Portable TV or P-TV, which adds portable TV watching functionality to your favourite sleek Sony handheld. Japanese users of the service will be able to download video content from So-net, with some free and some pay-to-download and view, content.
More significantly over here in the UK, version 2.71 will enable Sony's brand new LocationFree TV service which launches today in Sony stores across fair old Great Britainland. UK and European users can get the full deal by visiting Sony's freshly launched LocationFree TV site. |

Great news, and the LocationFree TV is a very interesting thing (for the UK players at least ) Hopefully, if this goes well, they will expand it beyond Europe. |

I hope they can improve the quality of LocationFree, it's not terribly impressive in its current form. |
