I always tell myself I'm not going to buy a "first generation" system, and then I run out and get it the day it's released. I'm on my second PS2 because my first generation one crapped out. I am such a sucker, so of course I got my PSP the day it was released. It's not like there were even any games out yet that I really wanted to play! Am I the only one who does this?

I never usually get the first release I wait till they get all the bugs out, but since they have updatable firmwares now on PSP and 360 and most certainly PS3, getting an earlier version is usually would be an advantage to being able to exploit.

I took pictures on PSP Launch Day - I will have to find them and post here. It was not nearly as exciting as previous launch days, hardly anyone at the EBX I went to. I'm a nut for console launches though, I've been there for each one since the original Playstation in 1994.

I worked all day on the xbox and gamecube launch days. I used to work at Babbages (part of the gamestop company tree.)
Other than that, I had a ps2 second shipment and just to get second shipment on it, I had to reserve it 1 year in advance. |

I lined up to get my PSP early in the morning on the day it was released. It was an excellent purchase. Haven't put down Grand Thefy Auto: Liberty City Stories yet.

I was hoping to get it the first day, but back then the Canadian Dollar wasn't as strong compared to the US one, which in turn made the PSP actual price quite...scarier.

I just bought one recently, thought I'd wait awhile, until a big price drop, but well couldn't hold back any longer and took the plunge.

No I had to wait for 1 of two reasons. I like to give it time for the general public to get ahold of the product and review it. Second I had to save up the money to get all the accessories that I wanted to go with it. I waited about 3 months before I ever got mine.

That's pretty much the same for me. I had been debating whether or not to get one, but after awhile I finally broke down and shelled out the cash. I think the prospects of having to fly across country for eight hours was a motivating factor! |

I wanted to get one right away, but the timing was not right and they were in short supply. Took me about 3 months until I got one.

No way, they ran out of PSP's when I got to the store. They kinda laughed at me as if I seriously expected to have one without a pre-order. Oh well, I got one and all's well that ends well.
